Classroom instruction in materials technology, welding and non-destructive testing methods. Specific teaching assignments may include, but not be limited, to industrial materials, nuclear materials, weld testing and evaluation, and welding metallurgy. Other teaching opportunities within the division may be available depending on qualification and interest in the subject area. Responsible for maintaining established programs and developing new and emerging curricula. Additional responsibilities for technology and laboratory management and coordination will be included. As an integral member of the ASET Division, individual expected to develop effective collegial relationships, work closely with students, work with local employers, help convene advisory committees, and take part in the promotion of the division programs and the College in general.
Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Materials Engineering, Engineering Technology, Materials Science Technology, Welding Engineering, Welding Technology, or Manufacturing Technology.
Teaching experience in an educational institution preferred.
CWE/CWI certification or ability to attain the same before continuing status.
Work experience exceeding 4000 hours minimum in the field required/or journey person card attesting to work hours.
Background and certification in non-destructive methods, ASNT certification desirable
Ability to perform basic hands-on welding strongly desirable.
